Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati’s, was founded by great visionary and first union Agriculture Minister Late Dr.Panjabrao alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh in 1932 for the socio-economic uplift ment of downtrodden through affordable and quality education. College of Engineering and Technology, Akola was established in 1983, under this Society with mission, “Technical Education for over all development of students, region and society” and a vision with to prepare socially conscious engineers and technologists who will be acceptable nationally as well as globally. The college will strive to turnout engineers, technologies with overall personality developed through sports, cultural, social and extracurricular activities Continuous efforts and sincere academic and research contributions helped the students, who have mostly come from the economically, and socially weaker background, have became successful in the industry in India, abroad and successful entrepreneur.

Alumni of this college are at the helm of affairs of a number Multinational Companies, Government departments, Public undertaking, Companies, and Private Sector Companies.

They have been also actively contributing to the field of Research, Technological Management, Design and Development, Education, Defense, & General Administration.

Many of alumni have completed MS, M.Tech.& Ph.D. From the top reputed Institute of India and abroad through merit scholarships. Many of them are contributing to the developed countries like U.K., U.S.A., Canada, etc.

College has reached not only to near bout all the states of country like TamilNadu to Jammu & Kashmir and from Assam to Gujrat through its alumni but also the major part of the globe. Students of COETA have always been in demand and they are almost placed before passing from this college for last twenty years. The college has got its own brand image due to consistent success story of its alumni in the companies due to their, technical knowledge, skills, personality, honesty, sincerity and smart hard working.
